What is a ceremony?

'I would create a unique ceremony around the beliefs, values and wishes of the deceased and his/her family, to happily include hymns, prayers and blessings.'

When someone close to us dies, understandably we are not always comfortable with words and

phrases that point towards a celebration of that life.

Confusion, numbness, inconsolable grief, disbelief and overwhelming sadness are just some of the words and feelings associated with your loss but hidden in all the pain and sorrow, I feel there is undeniably something to celebrate.  I am aware that, although many people are not affiliated to a faith, or have strong religious beliefs, they would still like some religious or spiritual content in the ceremony.  With this in mind, I will create a unique ceremony around the beliefs, values and wishes of the deceased and their family, and to happily include, if wished, hymns, prayers and blessings.

Vibrant and relevant ceremonies, wherever they are held, manage to integrate both, traditional and new, religious and secular.  It is not about choosing between them, or replacing one with the other, but finding a place where they can unite. Ceremonies do not have to be held in crematoria or cemeteries, I have created individual and beautiful ceremonies in people’s homes, gardens, church halls, function rooms, even a football club with a small committal ceremony at the crematorium or cemetery afterwards.  Also, around the area there are some beautiful natural burial grounds which you may like to consider.
